Questions
What is a Personal Coach?
A Personal Coach supports, encourage, challenges and motivates you to achieve your goals, they celebrate your successes, identify your strengths and weaknesses and help you to discover how to overcome obstacles, and how to keep taking that next step forward so you get where you want to be quicker than you might have done on your own, and without coaching.
What happens during a coaching session?
Typically each session involves a recap on the actions achieved from the last session, and we look at your successes and any obstacles that might have arisen. We talk about the new ‘session goal’ so that you know what you want to achieve by the end of the day’s session. We explore where you are at the moment with that goal; what you have tried; what has worked and any obstacles you have come across along the way. We then explore the possible options for achieving that goal, using techniques that can bring up ideas you may have never thought of before. Lastly and importantly we look at what actions you want to set yourself from the list of options to achieve that session’s goal.
How long are the coaching sessions?
Sessions are approximately 50 minutes. These sessions can be weekly, fortnightly or monthly, whatever suits your life and the speed at which you can take actions to achieve your goals.
How many coaching sessions will I need?
This depends on what you want to achieve with your coaching. For some people this may take as little as 4 sessions and for others it will be more. It is a very personal decision based on your individual goals.
Where does the coaching take place?
In many cases the coaching will take place over the phone, with the client phoning the coach. This has proven to be the most convenient way for individuals to fit coaching into their busy lives. Alternatively I am very happy to meet for coaching in NE London/Essex, so long as we agree on a quiet meeting place with no distractions where you can totally focus on the conversation.
How much does it cost?
Sessions are priced at £50 and last approx 50 minutes, which makes it a very modest investment in yourself for something that may prove to be life changing. If it feels like an extravagance that can’t be justified then consider what you are regularly prepared to pay for hairdressers, gym, lunch out, ‘retail therapy’ or beauty salon treatments then say yes, you are worth it!
Also please try me out before you buy, I will not ask for payment for the first session until you have experienced it and are satisified that you would like to have coaching with me.
Paypal available here or contact me for bank transfer details or to send a cheque.
Who is coaching for?
Coaching has something to benefit everyone, and at any point in their life. Generally people who turn to coaching all share a desire to change something and although it may involve some soul searching its focus is always on optimising whats possible in the here and now in order to have a happier and fulfilled life. Whereas counselling typically deals with emotions and issues of the past that are affecting the present and if this is what you feel you may need then coaching may not be quite right for you at this time.
What happens next?
I would love to hear from you and then we can have a conversation which gives you the opportunity to ask further questions and most importantly, to get a feel for whether I am the right Personal coach for you. If you are interested I am willing to hold our first Coaching session before taking payment. I will then ask for pre payment of the first 4 sessions. I have some more details, including our Code of Conduct, Terms and Conditions and Contract which I will willingly email to you.
Why would you want coaching?
Maybe the kids are growing up and moving on, your husband is busy and you wake up realising you have left yourself on the shelf. Your days are filled with routine, or doing what you tell yourself you have to do. If you are honest you do have a choice. but you prefer not to turn the spotlight on yourself. The trouble is you are concerned that if you start examining your life it might lead to change, and change scares you. Anything could happen! And deep down you truly don’t think you have the confidence to try to be or do or have something more in your life. So its about “what if”. What if you could feel completely rejuvenated by a new outlook, or new interests, or a change of role, or a new way of thinking? And who else would benefit in your life if you were fulfilled and content and proud? How much more confident and happy could you be if you allowed yourself some time and space to get your sense of self back and place value on your own happiness as you do for everyone else in your life?
OR
Maybe everyone in your life has needs and you bend yourself in, what feels like, a million different directions to make sure you take care of everyone else and try to keep them happy and nurtured. The question is – what about you? How can you be at your best to do all that you do, if you never give yourself time space or opportunity to be who you feel you are. Sometimes we have moved so far away from remembering what that feels like we need to take some time to really work that out again. You want to rediscover your sense of self before you were identified as mother, wife, friend, daughter, sister etc. You no doubt love all those aspects of yourself and your life, and it’s not about pulling away from them, it’s just about placing as much value on your own well being as you do on everyone else’s
